Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

If we've never met, I'd love to tell you a little about myself.

Long before I became a Montessori teacher, I was a young mom who made every parenting mistake in the book.

Over time, I've learned that parenting isn't about being perfect, or having all the answers, it's about being willing to keep learning. That belief has shaped the way I teach and support families.

I have spent many years teaching parent-child classes, beginning with "Mommy and Me" classes at the Richland Community Center before co-founding the nonprofit Early Learning Co-op in 2018. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching infant, waddler, and toddler classes, and one of my greatest joys has been watching children and parents grow in confidence together. Nothing makes me happier than to see the families come together and support each other. 

I am MACTE-certified to teach Montessori classes for children from birth to three years old, and I continue to be inspired by Montessori's deep respect for young children.

What first drew me to Montessori was its peacefulness.

There is something remarkable about watching a young child become completely absorbed in meaningful work. That sense of calm, purpose, and joy continues to inspire me every day.  I also love the Montessori idea of freedom within limits, creating thoughtful structure while giving children meaningful choices within it. Children thrive when they know what to expect, and are trusted with real responsibility. 

At home, I'm the mother of three grown sons and one wonderful daughter who is now in junior high. Being a mom has been one of the greatest gifts of my life, and it continues to shape everything I do.

When I'm not teaching, you'll probably find me tending my garden, caring for my many pets, knitting, decorating, reading with my daughter, or planning our next family adventure. I love history, geography, traveling, and discovering the beauty in both everyday moments and faraway places.

You'll rarely find me without a cup of tea nearby. I have quite the collection, and I believe some of life's best conversations happen while enjoying tea together. I always have warm tea available during classes. 

As I've grown older, I've found myself slowing down in the very best ways. I'm more patient than I was in my younger years, and I find even greater joy in observing children, listening to families, and appreciating the quiet moments that make childhood so extraordinary.

I still consider myself a student.

I love learning, reading, asking questions, and discovering better ways to support children and the people who love them. My hope is that every family who joins Early Learning Community leaves feeling a little more confident, a little more connected, and deeply encouraged in the important work they're already doing.
